thoose are pimelodus blochii, i am getting pimelodus ornatus, same size but slimer, meaner, and it has a longer flater shovelnose style head

Actually, ornates tend to get quite a bit larger than P. blochii, even though technically P. blochii have a larger maximum size (they take forever to reach their max. size, and most never get past 6-8").Experiment397;4381446; said:
oh yeah. i saw my first ornate 3 years back at a public aquarium, he was easily 14 inches long, ever since then ive benn looking for one, finally found one!!!
my biggest one is named bubba ( He is older, not a juv) and he is around 7 inches. I think he is full grown and he is about 5 years old now. I had him when I was younger and didn`t really care about what size tank I had, so I think he is stunted. He was in a 15 gallon ( I know terrible, but I was much younger then), now he is in a 70 and happy. He is in charge of the bottom. The other two ones ( about 4 inches) know their place,lol..
I have read that P. Blochii will reach 27 inches!
