Great looking RD Mine is only 2 inches, so he has a long time until he gets as big as yours. What size did you get yours at and how quickly did it take him to reach this size?

thanks, hopefully he looks sweet. mine never went through a peeling stage at all. He is spoiled, he gets a 125g all to himself and gets plenty of attention.

Good looking fish. All colored RD's peel though. Your's just must have done it before you got him.

Isn't it odd that store bought fish are all colored up really small yet when I breed any of my color amphilophus some do not peel until 7" or more. I'm guessing that is due to some hormone enhanced food on the store bought ones to make then sell better.

Thanks for that info, i didn't know that. but it makes since. thats crazy that it sometimes takes that long. i know someone that has an older brother from this same parents and he is a monster.
