Can’t wait to dirty it up :-), sorry I should have clarified, I was referring to the bit. Is a standard wood bit ok, or should I get a carbide bit.

damn bruh......get out of my head.....I was singing that song when I saw the pics also

That is definitely a clean tank. I want one......baaaaaddddddddd

I was really happy with how it turned out, I was unsure as I didn't know the tank maker, but its pretty decent build. I was going to build this tank and the 55 into the wall in my basement, but decided to put the tanks on the back sun room.

I will post pictures of the setup as it comes along, in the end there will be 4 tanks, I am planning the exact layout right now. Hope to start construction monday, having the frame work completed by mid week, and hope to have the stands completed by the following monday.

Once I get this one up and running, I can move closer to the goal of having an Aro/BGK tank.

So this isn't the sump for the BIG tank?! :(

:D

Drill bits for acrylic are sharpened at a specific angle that is different than steel drill bits. Unless you are absolutely desperate, don't use a regular bit as they grab and pull the material and being used with a hole saw can crack the acrylic.

You can get the special bits from acrylic dealers or have one made from a tool sharpening service.

Rubbing the drill bit and hole saw teeth into a bar of soap for lubrication helps too.

I believe the bit is more important than the drill.
