i have 2 working on my 120 gal along with other filters, i got them on ebay new ,bidding on them, one for 69dollars delivered and one for 61dollars delivered, been running since june 2007. If it fails i will get another.
 
Congrats on the pick up... Can't beat it for the the price...

i've got two both have the original thick black sponge for bio and the rest are filter floss!:headbang2

Does it have a UL # or FCC # specific to that product? A lot of Chinese, knock offs are trying to circumvent the fees for product registration. If it has a legimitate UL#, it's a pretty good bet it's a safe product. If not and only paying $25.00 for the filter, I'd throw it out...much easier than trying to replace your stuff after a fire...

Fire would be Bad !!!!

I would be in use in basement on concrete floors.
It Would be hard to catch fire.........not impossible though :(

I will be careful with it.
