Does it have a UL # or FCC # specific to that product? A lot of Chinese, knock offs are trying to circumvent the fees for product registration. If it has a legimitate UL#, it's a pretty good bet it's a safe product. If not and only paying $25.00 for the filter, I'd throw it out...much easier than trying to replace your stuff after a fire...
