I know I fell in love with them for the brief time they were in my possesion.

Next order I get from Jeff will definitely include a few of these guys.

JD_man has or had some not sure if he's still got em or not. Last time I was over there though they were pretty cool lookin little guys

....I did. For some reason my oscar won't go near a 1" dat, but those 2-3" bartoni's looked really tasty. Within a few days both of them were decapitated. They were cool and aggressive little fish. Got both of them on a Rapp's order.

I saw them when I was at Media Luna. I was shocked to see how big they got.. They are fairly aggressive mid sized cichlids. Very adaptable to most tank conditions. Absoultley stunning when they go into breeding dress. In the wild they swim with Carpinte and Labridens...both also fairly aggressive...so they can hang if you introduce them right.

A bit off topic, but do you still have Heros Rotkeil?

While in Media Luna we saw quite a few. Here's a video of a large breeding pair of H. carpinte "Rio Verde" and a breeding pair of H. bartoni. What was interesting was that their boundaries were seperated by a large rock. If you look close you can see the cloud of fry that each are protecting.
