What is the max size that a Herichthys Carpintis could get to in the aquarium? Mine is about to hit 5 inch and was wondering whether he has the potential to get to around 8"? I can't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere, as I read about them maxing out at around 7" and some saying they can get to 11" or 12"?

Thanks

How long did it take yours to get to 8"? Do you have a pic by any chance?

I got mine at an inch and that was in April and he is already 5", amazing growth rate so far.

Amazing Carpintis. How big is your aquarium?

Mine is only a 75 gallon. Would that restrict him long term to around 7" or 8" do you think?

great looking carpintis . . . I had a male that got to about 6" in a year (in a 90G), but didn't get any bigger after that . . .

He has two JD's in there with him right now. I hope he gets bigger at 8 inch he would look amazing ! Thanks for sharing !

Depends on where you get the fish. The line being bred, as well as fry having been stunted can be major factors. A lot of the local shop "carpintis" I have experienced will stay right around 6-8".

I have worked with a line of escondido carpintis. The males reached 10-12" in around year and a half.
