I was wondering if my carpintis and festae could spawn.... not that I want them to but I might need to make room... Please Help!

I believe that would make super red texas

A 'red texas' is a (descendant of a) hybrid of a texas or green texas (or both) with a different species of fish, which is red in color, has pearlings an has the general shape of a (green) texas.

A 'super red texas' is a red texas with amazing red coloration, comparable to that of the blue or green coloration of a super green texas.

I would like to believe that a green texas x festae would produce at least some red texas fry, but as with all F1 hybrids, it's all down to chance.

It's possible that a super red texas would be one of the possible progeny, but who knows.

I think I've seen a cross before and they had lots of pearls. But a red Texas is not gonna be an outcome. Only female festae get red so possibly female hydrid could have some red but no way on super red Texas. It sounded good. Sorry to bust your balls. Most likely the festae will add red fins, bars, and more yellow to the mix. But I think that would be it.

Shhhhh  That's what I've hoped for a loooooooooooooong time. I had the name Texas Massacre, but since I never got the two species to spawn then I guess its up for grabs. Red Tiger Mota x Festae = Tyranno Terror

Also thanks for posting this thread...it led me to research and I ran into this. AWESOME! Dovii x Festae..the guy spawned it himself so he knows. Also a sibling from the 1st batch but looking a lot like the Manaconda instead. This is exactly what happens when hybridizing occurs, we can only imagine what the Manaconda's siblings could look like. WOW

Dovii x Festae: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=231872 Personally I'd call them Lycans

Then I guess they will just be a fh. I be heard that they could make super red Texas that way I guess I was wrong.

Never jump to conclusions of FH. A Flowerhorn technically has to have a "Flower" on the horn/head if you wanna get into it. Pretty much anything could turn out to be a "Red Texas" since 1 batch can yield 4 to 5 different looks/variant/what have you. Hell, even a Texas and Synspilum could do the trick, because of the uncertainty of look/variant/and what the hell have you, lol.

That is my sole purpose or reason in the hobby this point in time for me. I am trying for hybrizing purebreds, and everyone can have their opinions on that including me. So get this and evaluate it very closely and carefully..." I will be selling guns and bullets, but it does not mean I agree or encourage murder by guns. "

Guns don't kill people....People kill people
