No bloat issues just aggression. Ive had a total of 9 fish in the last 2.5 years and when they decide they don't like each other its on. Most were still too small to divide with eggcrate and lack of preparation cost me. One thing I will say is these fish just dont seem to do well below 82 degrees. Tank temp on the fry is 86 and lovin it. On to more pics!
This is the male about 14 months ago
Female taken same day
Male taken today, hes still pissed over the whole net and kidnapping thing and wont come out
Female today, shes just staring at the bottom looking for the fry. Witnessed her crushing her pellets for the fry and removing her may not have been necessary but I decided to play it safe.
And this is about the best fry pic im going to get. They spend a lot of time picking at the driftwood as did the parents. Wood has been in a pleco-less tank for about 5 years and this one for 3. Outer 1/8 inch is very soft and almost mud when you run a finger across it.
My Mink experiance wouldnt be complete with out showing this guy. Picked him up from a guy down by Ohio in hopes of pairing it with one of my first 3. Hes was 3 inch when I got him and about 5 in this photo. Made it to 6inch unfortunately during a 3 day power outage this winter I lost him. Seventy degrees is way too cold for this species. You can plainly see he chew the crap out of some driftwood.
