Here's a short clip of notatus. They are a bit smaller than the male I acquired 1st and have been sharing this quarantine tank w/ a pair of tapajos, parnaibae and some cutteri that I bred months ago. They were quite skinny and had that wild caught look when I got them, but you can see that they are filling in nicely and they go cray for food when I enter our fishroom. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-2PDQUHUlQ

Nice setup I like

Very nice 'notatus'. Do you have any females?

Ryan said it looks like I definitely had one. Ik my big one is a male. I'm going to vent them when I move them. My buddy's are pushing 7 inches In his 180. I saw a handful left at my lfs, so I might swap a male out after I vent them. We vented them when they 1st came in, but you know how that goes sometimes. The eyes can be decieving. My appendiculatus are starting to court so I'm stoked as well.

Based on your video it looks like all males. :/ There is that one small fish that has less spotting on it, but it still shows marks on the gills which all my females lacked. It sucks that I just got rid of all my F1 females. I had like six of them. Apparently pH or hardness is a factor in determining the sex of fry because about 80% of my spawns end up being female.

They look great, though. Mine aren't anywhere near 12", maybe 8" or so. The F1s I grew out are over a year old and still only 6 - 7". Compared to my super red and my mouthbrooding sevs they are small. There are a few people who've posted videos of large looking adults, though.
