Herping Supplies... Its ALMOST that time of year.

.... Mistaking a water mocassin for something else when i reached for it.... Yea, that was the stupidest thing i have ever done.....

when i go herpin i take a hook and thats it. i wear appropriate clothing for wherever and whatever im going/doing but thats it.

i came down to florida for spring break to do some partying and herping on the side. lots of stuff here year round, i saw 13 diffeent species so far and i havent even tried to look yet lol.

Boots and jeans if you're in venomous country is always a good move. Old fishing pole makes a good noosing pole. Night herping with a good light is fun also, mainly frogging. I like herping, I managed to bag most of the Connecticut herp species at one time or another when I was up north but I haven't really found any good spots down here yet. Of course I see anoles every day and the novelty hasn't worn off of that yet...lizards running around wild, too cool

during this time of year i get to contend with bears cougars and wolfs with my feet for my only mode of transport but i do get lots of salamanders and the 5 different sub spiecies of garters and one year way back i could of swore i saw a swift and i have not found an alligator lizard at all and dont get me started on the frogs and turts

You got to get a Dogo argentine dog to sort those cougars out my uncles got one and apparently they hunt cougars...an carbine rifle or 12 bor shotgun for the wolves and bears and a butterfly net for the herps

Lets not get off track here. He didn't say he was going to kill anything. Nothing wrong with carrying a sidearm in bear country. I'd rather have one then become a statistic.
