yeah but i think its more the outer limits sound 
i lost my snowflake when i moved the tank searched everywhere and a week later he was out in the tank
funny you mention that i had a grass lizard migrate 2 tanks down and the same one today got out and came back after i put crickets in the tankguppy said:
Clown loaches do like to hide at times. I have a fake rock in my tank that is partially hollow. One of my loaches got inside it for about four days. Found him while doing a major tank cleaning. Perfectly healthy. They are nocturnal so he was most likely eating at night.
Sometimes a smaller fish gets out of view for a time in my tank. I usually find that they show back... AS A LUMP IN THE BELLY oF MY RTCxTSN catfish. Just my swamp eel vanishes and appears from time to time.

I had lost a yo-yo Loach once.. I couldn't figure out where he went. I had swapped some tanks around, and moved my community tank out of the 45g that had an undergravel filter.
Well apparantly when I was moving my community tank, the powerhead on the UGF had fallen off and the yo-yo Loach darted down the tube when I wasn't looking. I had presumed him dead once I couldn't find him, figured he had gotten eaten. I moved my Buttikoferi in the 45g and had himo there for about 6 months.. I left the UGF in place, but just capped off the uplift tubes. Then one day during feeding time, all of a suddon, the Yo-Yo loach popped out from UNDER THE GRAVEL. It was the most amazing sight I had ever seen.. I thought it was buried all this time, but apparantly it was living off the detritus in the UGF.. It must of felt food and 'blasted' its way up through the substrate! Resiliant lil buggers!

I had 2 clown loaches that disappeared at the same time! Got worried. Couldn't find either of them for a couple of days. Then I saw their hiding place. They were on their sides stuffed underneath a rock. They came out and were fine. Strange fish.
Our Pictus Cat disapeared for about 2 weeks and now it's back... but we can't figure out why there is a visa and a lot of receipts floating in the tank.
