the lovely ST in your avatar makes this 3 bar indo look ugly. I wouldnt pay a thousand for that fish. up to you if you like it.

I wonder if the experts that can decide from really bad photos that it isn't an ST actually own an ST?

Well then, since you're the expert, what makes this an St? Please enlighten me. Because I don't need high quality pictures to see that the 3rd tail stripe on this fish goes all the way down the body. A TRUE ST has half a bar that stops at the tail. This is a true ST. ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1357306019.208010.jpg
And this video is of a confirmed 3 bar it from stones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p63MxXdvN1s.

Where did I claim to be an expert? I commented on bad photos, and asked a question. I never have owned an ST.

I interpreted a condescending and sarcastic remark in your comment. If that wasn't the way it was meant to sound, then I apologize. But I still believe the fish is an Indo and I wouldn't pay that amount of money for a fish that could even be questioned as an Indo. That was my point.

It looks to me like one of the so called CT tigers that have shown up in the last couple years. The only identifying feature on this fish that doesn't scream ST to me is the 3rd stripe on the tail.

Now I'm no expert on the subject but I have owned 10 different STs over the years. And as to whether or not the fish is worth $1000 only the op can make that decision.
