right before my firemouths bred, they were liplocking all the time. Not even oscars 3 times their size kept them from breeding, and NO ONE dared eat those eggs!

mine were 2.5" when they bred, so you shouldn't have any problems ;)
 
When supply equals demand, there is equilibrium price. A previous posting was correct, firemouths are in a surplus state, thus causing the price to be lower. One must provide added value in order to offset the state of surplus. Higher quality through breeding will add value and increase demand, therefore the price will increase. Perception plays a role in added value, especially in today's economy. If you can find a way to convince the market that your fish are superior, you get a better price.
