Hi,

Found this guy/gal at a LFS getting beat on by a Rose Queen in their "spacious" 10g tank. I got a good look while she was stressed out in there and I could see the front part of her dorsal was black/blue and the band in the front looked like a 4. Anyhow, I'm no expert but I think it's a true female Festae. She's close to 5" and I picked her up for $20. Sorry for the crummy pics but she's in my quarantine tank with lots of cover so I can never get a good shot in that tank.

I'll try to post some pics when she's settled a bit more.

Thanks:D

Yup a true RT

its a True 100% male...ive kept male and females before before they got eaten by my RTC...=[ and that definitely is a male

Thanks for the replies. I was really surprised to find one by just walking into a store. Unfortunately I was hoping it was a female. What in particular makes you guys lean towards male?

Forgot to mention, if it makes any difference, that all the pics are with flash since the lighting on that tank is low.

it had the same coloration and lightness as it did with mines...plus my LFS has wild caught males and looks like that one. Female has the darker RED and gets a dark blotch on her Dorsal finage

No black on the dorsal makes me lean towards male. Post some more pics in a week or so when he gets settled in.
