Hey im new!!! clown knife Question!!!!!

Can i keep a clown knife with an oscar in a 27g tank. They will be able to live together until i move them to a 35g then maybe a 55g.

the aro may even out grow the 180 if it's too narrow.

do what you want with your money, just make sure youll be in the hobby for a long time and youll always be happy with the way you used your money. the worst thing you can do is blow 2 grand then quit the hobby next year.

Welcome to MFK!! I got into the hobby when I was about your age. Once you set up that monster tank, you'll never go back.

I could see even a 2' wide tank getting tight for a clown knife. A buddy of mine had one that could barely turn around in his 180. If you keep them in confined spaces you will see some aggression for sure.

Are you set on a clown knife...if not, you should look into some of the smaller species that wouldn't be so hard to keep...like an African Knife (Xenomystus nigri), they usually stay around 12" or so.
