cockroach, nice set up! I was hoping more people would post pictures of their metal rack set ups. Gives us great ideas when we see what others accomplish with whats out there.
One of the things I wanted to achieve with the 40B swap out was uniformity in equipment in the fishroom. Now all my filters are Aquaclear 110's in the garage. This really makes it nice for parts swapping and only having to keep one type of media sponge. Previous to this I had an Aquaclear 70 which shares intake tube parts to the 110 and a penguin 200 which was not compatible at all. So the uniformity is something I appreciate, in fact I pulled a seeded filter off another tank to start up the 40B and then put a fresh filter on the other, which was fine since it was running two 110's on it.
Another thing I made sure of was to have the same light fixtures on all six tanks. I run Beamsworks leds with timers so it is nice to be able to lower the intensity and have the room pretty uniform looking, though the timers area all different as to how well they actually hold the time and some gain a lot of time and a couple lag so that I have to re-calibrate time in the fishroom monthly.
Anyway enough gabbing, picture of the fishroom at night
The 40B with gravel, light moved on top of tank as opposed to up in the racking and the way over filtered Aquaclear 110
Will be used as a QT tank for some new fish. No idea what they will be but ready for them, lol
