hey oscar+gar is possible

Alot of it depends on the oscar's personality. I've mixed oscars with gar and most gar are placid fish that are easily picked on unless you're doing a large gar with a bite-sized oscar, which is a different story. I would be more concerned for the gar than anything but you shouldn't have any problems.
 
when i did it, it didnt work out so good,i did 2 oscars and 2 gars many times i found the gars snout inside one of the oscars mouth the oscar was 4in. long and the gar was about 7in. be careful my problem was probably i had a oscar pair m/f
 
I have one gar and 2 oscars gar obout a foot oscars about 10 inches they get along fine my oscars only eat pellets though so they never fight over food
 
they should get along I had a 17' gar and my pacu tore his hold bottom jaw off he lived for about a week and died and I purchase a 21' gar the pacu tried the same thing with him I got rid of the pacu the pacu was about 15' long
 
You got some true monsters there...first a 17 foot gar, then a 21 foot gar and a 15 foot pacu...What do you feed these guys!!!!! :)
 
i have 3 oscars and a gar in a 125g for about 1.5 years now and have not had a problem

what kind of gars are y'all talking about? Sounds like a fun fish. I've never heard of them in an aquarium, though.
