OMG he does have pink eyes! How wierd is that?! o.O Ours has bright orange eyes and the male at the center looks blood red.

Seems like your box turtles can't make up its mind on what gender they should be!

First a female with red eyes, and a male with pink eyes!
 
Eastern Box Turtles..Looks awesome! Are they common in the pet trade(in CA?)

and the pink eye thing..does it make him expensive..or is it a health issue?
 
The pink eye is just a a rare genetic trait. I don't know if it make him more valuable or not.
 
If all goes to plan Davo, I will be releasing the young back to the wild. I have already had people contacting me for babies. But I don't want to count my turtles before they've hatched! :D

I don't think you can take them from the wild at all in any state they are native too, but I have seen captive bred ones for sale on Kingsnake.com. I can't believe how expensive babies and adults are on that site! :eek:

I have no idea how rare pink eyes are, but he's got them! I wonder if any of the young when adults will show that trait?
