Hi, just been referred to this forum as I am looking to try and get a bit more from my photography.

I am currently using a Fuji Finepix S5600 but am thinking of upgrading to a Canon 400D. However before I splurge on this expensive upgrade, I would like to ensure that I am getting the most from my current camera.

Here are a couple of samples of my latest shots, all critism / advise welcome :)

Welcome to the APF Nadine!:welcome:

Thers are very nice shots. To get a better critique, please pick one and post it in the Aquatic Critique Forum. Be sure to explain what equipment, lighting and camera settings you used. We have many users here that will be able to give you some pointers!

Welcome to APF, Nadine.
I think you're doing very good work with your current camera: the first shot is excellent and I think any of us would be happy if we had taken it. On the other hand, there is no doubt that a DSLR is the most versatile and useful type of camera, regrettably it is also the most expensive (because you always want extra lenses, flashes and other gear). I hope we can help you to make your choice.

Have put a pic in the critique section, trying hard at the moment not to go on a mad spending spree on a new camera so all help with current camera appreciated to ensure that I am getting the most from it;)
