Using shrimp to cycle is not a bad idea, but one or two would be sufficient
 
i'd say it looks a little bigger i'd say is a 40 gallon or a 55 mabye a 20 long any full tank shots?

but what is with those shrimp are they to cycle it if so you really only need one or two and if your just thawing them i'd just use the sink

its definatley not 40 gallon more like 14 gallon this is the full tank shot apart from the little piece of glass on the end, the prawns are to cycle the tank, its cheaper then using any fish and buying bacteria from shops soo...

B_Biorb, congrats on the new tank but it's too small to house a Gold Saum. It's ok for a convict but for a G.T., you'll need at least a 55+ gallon tank...c'mon step up and be a monster fish keeper...come over to the dark side.

As far as prawn cycling, shouldn't you take them out of the plastic bag?
