hi, nitrates are dangerous above 40ppm, deadly at 100ppm, most on here like to keep them as low as possible, some even below 10ppm! not saying thats the cause of the spots pal but something to keep in mind when you are stocked so heavily, you need an 8x3x2 minimum really to keep all those fish long term. goodluck!-)
 
hi there,i just got my nitrate tested and its on 50ppm,due for a water change tomorrow.so when i do water change the water is ok for about 3 days then the nitrates go up.looks like i will have to do it twice aweek.going to get a sponge filter to help with the fx5.i keep you posted thanks.

nice lol, probably better off cleaning it monthly mate!-) at least you tested it anyways
