Hi fellow pike keepers

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok folks heres an update - i got myself a group of seven convicts from a mate, hoping the numbers would help pikes aggro be disperesed amongst the group, they ranged from around 1.5" to 3.5". After i had acclimatised them and put them in the tank pike immediately started to show off to them (doing a funny twitching dance) and then proceded to eat the two smallest when he got close enough. :screwy:

Pike has now resorted to chasing them around the tank and constantly hunting them - especially the albino (biggest convict). I have taken a vid of it but im unsure how to load it up to the site so will look into it when i am home.

Good job pike hasnt taken to pissing off my new aquasition that i also picked up from my pal - a six inch wolf fish!!:headbang2(who is only in the pike tank untill my new tank is properly cycled - bloody amonia)

Do i just have a pike that is a glass banging loon?!:screwy:

I have heard a pvc pipe might help with the aggression but how?

Cheers again

and i was gonna say to get 1-2" convicts. what bad advice that would have been. from my personal experience my pack of convicts is pretty mean. would have thought that multiple +3" convicts might have started pickin at your pike. i almost feel bad for the little devils then i remember they are convicts. you could try a decent sized oscar? possibly? something big enough the pike wouldnt hopefully go after it but mild mannered enough it wont go after the pike. thats what i would try anyway, i have had pretty good luck with oscars and pike together.
