Wow. My comment got a post moved. That's POWER. lol just kidding. didn't mean to sound arrogant with the cyprinid comment. But when I have a fish I want to know exactly what it is.
 
I new they were cyprinids, but wasn't think that most cyprinids were coldwater.

I would have to say no to lettuce, young fish even vegetarian fish usually eat more animal protean. I would feed him a good quality pellet, maybe a good koi pellet with frozen blood worms as treats. maybe after he gets settled in you can try to provide him with algae or better yet algae wafers. Water in the mid to low 70's wouldn't hurt, lots of aeration.
