Anyone know if that's really a bgk x elephantnose fish hybrid? I know they have this type of BGK being breed in Indonesia but parents are both BGK and not a cross with an elephantnose fish. Even regular BGK have tiny fin like on the top of the body. Take a dead BGK and use a needle or a toothpick. You will see a tiny fin on the back. This new breed is just a mutation of those. Just like you see in other fish which developed a long fin.

Certainly not a hybrid. Gymnotiformes and Mormyriformes are separate fish orders on separate continents. Interestingly, this vestigial fins you describe are actually an accessory electric organ. This mutation, however, is quite remarkable and I would be very interested to see more pictures if anyone has some to share.
