Just keep in mind that birds are high maintenance pets - they need A LOT of attention or they start to develop all kinds of problems.

By a lot of devotion, at least! Six hours out of cage time a day.
I don't keep my macaw in his cage, only when he go's in at night and falls asleep do I close it.
You may want to bird proof your home, or have a dedicated room where the birds can't get a hold of anything they can chew, because they will chew anything thats interesting to them.
