lol if i was allowed access and i guess a bank loan. LOL they aren't cheap man nor are they allowed here in australia either! hehe..

Hey Ryan that's half the appeal, you'd be amoung a small group with an asian aro in Oz.In your situation i'd go for either of the toga's & then later on attempt a silver,& maybe after that an asian aro. When you go to the big $ aro's as a beginner the lessons you learn my be quite expensive.cheers

Tomi.

Welcome to MFK,

I also Recently Joined MFK, I wish i could find a Jardini here in the States,

From NEW YORK, at Silver Aro is about $35 on average and any other Aro is $200 and up with the Yolk sack still attached, Big Aro Bigger Money, Seen a 11" Gold for $1,200

Here in Oz we pay anywhere from $70-150 for a jardini,a silver arowana will cost between $290-400 & some of the asian aro's have sold for 6.5k & over:(.

welcome to mfk. recently a new member also. i picked up my jardini for 60 bucks here in california.

hehe hey Tomi! how are you mate? looking forward to pick up the tank big time.

Whats you're opinion re the background? should I go for the universal or just a foam one? I think foam is better of for me as it will take up less space (more room for the fish to swim) I definately think the latex universal one would look 100x better than the foam though!

I think you're right - I'll start of with the jar and work my way up. i dont think it would be right buying a $400 silver and then cry a river if it died.. lol

will give you a buzz as soon as i sort out the ute! good to see you on here.

im new too, i had a jardini but it suddenly died T_T in the states its one of the more expensive fish. youre lucky youre there. i had mine in a 39 then into a 55, not that he grew up real quickly. ,my boss sed his clients jardini turned real red as it got older. mine got patterning on his fins and got some reddish tinge. man i miss him

lol 60 bux for a jar? its even cheaper in cali! they go for 80-120 over here..

i guess its just human nature to want something that is harder to get. i.e. in the u.s. jar's/lei's are rarer than silvers where as its vice versa here.

i wonder if it's hard to import a silver over, i guess it would be knowing our quarantine laws.. would be great to know if anyone's done it before - import a silver into sydney.

I'm good Ryan,it's good to see you found this forum aswell.Been a member here for a lil while but been a bit too shy to post until now.Tank is ready & waiting, can't wait till it goes so i can setup my other 5x2x2 so the PB's can have their own tank, the toga is giving them a hard time & my RTC is growing fast.
The background is really a matter of what your after,i think a DIY background can look just as good as any universal background & it works out alot cheaper. Also the universals do not have to come out as far as the one i have does, they have different styles.
