Pictures! the eel thread can be abit slow sometimes but there are plenty of spiney owners lurking around. You may be bale to find the sceintific name in the sticky section, its abit mishmashed atm. BUt otherwise with pictures youll get a quick ID response.

Cool will definately go and have a look, ill upload a pic of it :)

Try teaching it to hand feed, no better way to tame a spiney. Very cute lil guy, they make great first spiney eels.

How do you start them hand feeding?mines still very shy.

Patience is the key, but basically what you want to do is hold the food in the water near the cave or hiding area where the eel is and just wait till they get used to associating your hand with food...

It may take a while, but eventually they seem to come around, also at the beginning, try not to create any sudden movements when hes near or poking his head out or you'll scare him back into his hiding place...

Make sure you have a good lid and no spots for him to get out or he Probly will... Iv kept several eels. And sad to say I've lost three peacocks that have found there way out of tiny holes. Never lost any others tho.
