Ok does anyone have an eel that always seems to be missing......
I have a tire track eel on the day i got him (6 months ago) i put him in the tank n within an hour he was missing.... Found him in the emperor 400..!!!!! Then about once a week i would find myself searching for him in the tank, always would find different spots...... Now got a 300gal put him in the first morning i find him in the powerhead n now its the 2nd morning n he is missing not in the powerhead n not out the tank......

Does anyone deal wit this type of problem with there own eel??????

hummm hes prob in the filter, to stop this put a peace of mesh over the output. The mesh i use is from a plastic scrubie you can get a bunch at the dollar store different colors and stuff. Just make sure they don't have soap, and change the mesh when you clean you filter :).

Find out why hes doing this.. otherwise some day you'll likely wake up to find him on the floor. I use to have this problem.. until I started paying more attention to what was going on in my tanks. amke sure he's got plenty of hide spots and isn't being attacked by tank-mates. and your water quality is on spot ( they will jump into filters often to try and find "better" water)

he may grow out of burrowing aswell, i changed subrate from gravel to sand and have noticed my fir eel no longer hides in the sand, mabye in the pvc but not the sand least i know he could if he wanted 2.
