My new Adorned Wrasse I bought on Friday, cracking looking fish - think he was only put on sale for a hour when I reserved it! So I put it in the tank Friday afternoon when I got home, everything looked good. 30 minutes later I had a look in the tank for it and can I find it? Nowhere to be seen. So I let it be hoping it was hiding under the sand somewhere, but I was paranoid because I left the cover glass open for a hour by mistake after I added it to the tank... I thought it may have jumped and the dog thought it had a new toy..... but to my joy this morning I turns the lights on and there he is looking as happy as larry, so now he's been aptly named Houdini

Here's a few quick snaps.........

Looks really similair to my tail spot wrasse we named "miami dolphin" - we bought him to get rid of nudi branches that were chompin' on my softies. Which reminds me - might want to look into the 6 line wrasse or psuedochromis dottibacks if you planning on getting hard corals - they hunt down the small worms that burrow into calcium skeletons, these worms eventually crack the skeletons and that kills the corals.

Cheers I'll keep that in mind

So there has been a lot of changes the last few months.

Stock wise I've added a Six Line Wrasse for pest control (cheers Otherone for the suggestion) and a false perc clown fish. Other new stock; a large metallic green hammer coral, frogspawn, hystix, lime zoas, lovely 3 head duncan frag, red montipora and some green florida ricordea - slowly filling up with coral.

Lighting I've changed. I bought a Kessil A150w - sky blue and ran this on the tank for a few months. Sadly I'm not convinced with LED's yet. Great shimmer from the unit and it lit the whole tank up (albeit I would need more units to grow coral under) In the end the shimmer wasn't enough for me to keep the unit. It's now been sold on and I have now replaced it with a new Aqualumi series 2 6x39w T5 unit in black. It comes with some newly added fans to the design which is great for keeping the bulbs around 35C. It's running on my previously used Korallen Zucht bulbs so I can't complain - really pleased with it so far.

Swapped out my Vortech MP40wes. It was too noisy for my liking. Not only did the noise put me off, it wasn't performing how I imagined it would in terms of coverage/water flow. I've now got rid of that and replaced it with a few Tunze pumps instead, which are fanastic. I'm using two 6055's on a controller and the tank has never looked happier after putting them in. I wouldn't touch Vortech with a sh*tty stick now after how let down I was with the MP40.

Will dig out the camera and get some pictures uploaded shortly, thanks for looking :)
