im suppose to get a new ray soon. i have him on hold. dont ask me what type he is cause i have no idea. he looks like a motto, he is dark red with orangish spots. but my ammonia level is off the charts. i went down and he gave me some bags to put in the filter that is suppose to decreese the amonia but it isnt doing anything. i went to 50% water changes every other day. i changed my sand, nothing seems to work!!! i have no idea what to do. help please

How big is your tank?
What fish do you have in your tank?
Has your tank finished cycling?
When was the last time you cleaned your filter?
What are you using for bio-media?

do you have driftwood in the tank? I had some type of wood that i bought from petco and my ammonia spiked and as soon as i took the wood out and did a 80% water change no more ammonia.

I'm not sure your ready for a ray yet. What are your tank upgrade plans?

i talked to mike from h20 custom aquatics and he said the ray should be fine for a couple months. and im going to build my own tank, probably starting next month

Build the new tank 1st then get the ray
