things to try.....

additional water changes
more frequent filter cleaning
reduce feeding

and if your stuck a chemical filter to reduce nitrates as well....

You're overstocked.

140g = 1/2 Motoro.

Nitrate removers will not help you.. and likely stress out your sensitive fish.

You could try doing daily water changes of 50% or more, but that can stress out your fish too..

140g is not very big for the fish you are trying to keep.. 1 Ray, maybe 2 Max.. and that's only short-term as 140g is not even close to the size of tank you will need to house them for life..

The other predators make the problem even worse..

Your over-filtration is great for breaking down all that ammonia, but unclean canister filters can act as a nitrate factory with your insane bio-load.

Maybe design a drip-system/flow through system so you are getting 24/7 fresh water.. Even then, all those fish will outgrow that tank in no time at all.

sounds correct to me.....dont know much about rays myself.

why do you say Nitrate removers will not help you.. and likely stress out your sensitive fish. ??? :confused:

is this true for seachen purigen or de-nitrate ??

Why do you clean your filters every 3-4 days? Seems maybe your not allowing your filters to setup the proper bacteria levels. When you say clean what exactly do you mean gove details on how you clean and what your cleaning?
