High Nitrate

Help i have high nitrate in my tank!
Nitrate: 35-40 ppm
Nitrite: .25 ppm
Ammonia: .25 ppm
how do I control it?
I do pretty frequent water changes 1-2 times a week

You may also need a larger filter with more capacity for biological media. You need more bacteria. The nitrite and ammonia should be 0.

i don't feed that much either there are almost no leftover food and if they are i take them out
