Hello All,
Was wondering if someone here can give some advice on a High Shine Silver I purchased yesterday. At the store he was a pale silver in color, very faint coloration on the tips of his fins. He was so bright it was almost blinding! A few hours after acclimating he ate and swam about nicely, and I noticed his colored darkened a bit. He is still brighter than the average silver aro, just not as bright. My water params are perfect. The temp in the aquarium is 82 degrees. I noticed in the store the aquarium decor was light in color. My tank has dark coloration, substrate is black and dark brown, there is wood and plants as well. Could this be a factor as to why he darkened?
Has this happened to anyone with a high shine? is there a specific light I can use or something that I can use to help get the lighter color?
