High tech 40b progression

Tank is going good, new GLA regulator had a slight leak and it was coming from needle valve, emailed them and they sent me a brand new upgraded Fabco NV55 for free and priority shipping. Awesome costumer service is all I can say!

My rescaping has really brought the colors, depth and plants out, just need to find a nice red to contrast all that bright green! uploadfromtaptalk1401670525039.jpguploadfromtaptalk1401670550092.jpg

Lace leaf is still taking off!! You can see those small shoots which turn into massive leaves uploadfromtaptalk1401671090877.jpg

And of course the main attraction, my Striolatus Piranha uploadfromtaptalk1401671161438.jpg

Yea I was thinking of the lotus but I just don't know where to fit another plant without overcrowding like it was before. I like the clean new look, still a ton of foliage but much more organized!

Makes me want to setup my 90gal 4'x25"x18" and go full blast but that's so tall and unfortunately my pockets aren't as deep ATM.

You can add a few red bamboo randomly throughout the tank.

Never heard of them, are they like the green twisty version at lfs? Thanks for the recommendation!

Here's a couple random shots I took today:

one of the bamboo shrimp I've had for over 6-8months now browsing around uploadfromtaptalk1401754769529.jpg

My assassin snails are breeding like crazy, they are literally taking over and the MTS/pond snail population has decreased significantly! Very surprised at how fast these guys grow!View attachment 1017045

Those tiny lace leaf shoots from 24 hours ago have grown significantly if you compare the pics! Yesterday:View attachment 1017048 today:uploadfromtaptalk1401754999808.jpg

Sorry it uploaded sideways but the red ones are red bamboo. Its kind of grasslike which is why I like it for a splash of red here and there.

Ooooohhhhhh, I have that plant. Persecaria sp. ‘Kawagoeanum’, it grows real tall and colorful if you let it, and pretty fast. There is also a purple version called Sao Paulo that I'm wanting to get my hands on, and a related species Persecaria praetermissa 'Ruby’ that also looks really nice.

If you did a lotus or something, I'd put it somewhere right in front of the gap in-between the lace and the crypt. But then again I also just like having various levels of plant growth sloping down from back to front, where as what you have atm is all your tall stuff highlighted in the back with the rest of the mid and foreground being much more compact with the mosses. What moss are you growing btw, is it more than one species?

No the moss attached to the DW used to be 2" from the light when I had the previous aqua scape because the DW was standing up instead of down in this case, when it was standing up the moss on the DW grew like crazy, I constantly had to trim it due to it taking over so it grew more fluffy and in greater volume as opposed to the moss growing in the substrate, which has received much less light and has been growing more dense and vibrant but much slower. They both started out as a small single 4"x3" grid of Java moss and took off from there!

I like the look of both, its a great/simple addition to any planted/non planted tank!
