Not an easy combo but definitely a great piranha species for a planted tank! His razor sharp fangs could easily destroy my precious lace leaf!

I shall perhaps try tonight, its better when he eats talapia fillet for entertainment purposes but seeing him chomp healthy NLS is more gratifying!

Ok here's one I shot tonight! Its decent but a tad boring at times. Funny how he chomps up the pellet, grabs it then goes to his safe zone to devour it! And if he misses all the other fish feast

When ever I don't feed him pellets for a day or so he will hunt down some guppies and snack, which is great cuz I can go on trips without worrying about a food supply, especially since their not store bought or sickly. He generally leaves the others alone. He was raised solo without other fish for the 1st 6-8 months our so in a big 90gal so when I first got some guppies in there he was a little skittish of them and would attack much more but when he got into his planted 40b he adjusted nicely. Probably because he had a lot of hiding spot.

Guppies which have been breeding like crazy for some time now, 2 SAE's, 1 Molly, 1 Otto and a flying fox, which all seem to get along nicely! Inverts/crustaceans: old bamboo shrimp, breeding ghost shrimp, breeding assassin snails, MTS and maybe a pond snail or two but the assassin snails are taking over!

Grabbed a pellet while swiping a lace leaf knocking all the pearling off of it! Kinda looks like he burped

Slight update on my tank, I know its been a while so ill keep it short!!!

-added a hydor korrilia 1150gph PH
-re scaped a bit by adding more sand and creating a "moss hill" in the left rear corner
-added some red plants
-did some major pruning, including snipping all my lace leaves as they were dead!
-did a overhaul on the C02 injection> brand new Fabco NV55-18 needle valve -much bigger then the previous NV55, rock solid. Also made IMO a better Rex Grigg inline reactor, used a smaller width PVC but made it twice as long and moved the C02 port much higher up -

All in all some good improvements, which should benefit the tank long term.
