Theoretically you can but It may then affect his body color especially in a white tank and won't look very nice ... My personal opinion only

Alternatively maybe you try in black tank and maybe the gold can outcolor the pink for it's body

the pinkish scales is likely due to aro eating something that enhance redness... so this would be a good example how a xback may look like in a white tank with red enhancers.....
