what model quietone chaz?

The pump is a Grundfos Quiet one Silent Aquarium Pump. They used to make them for Rainbow Lifeguard Aquatics. Grundfos no longer makes the pump. I wish they did, it is the best I have ever had. With the pump screwed to the stand, the water flow is louder than the pump, gives off very little heat and over the last 10 years has a continuous run time of about 9 years with no problems.

I use Iwaki pumps on my tank to go through OC filters. Mag Drive pumps are great but not for pressure applications. For bigger flow requirements go with Sequence

I really like Iwaki pumps, they are extremely long-running and reliable.

I am surprised no one has mentioned a Sweetwater brand pump from Aquatic Eco Systems. External pump, low head, low power usage, built to last. They have various sized models to allow for varying flow/head requirements. If none of those fit your desired flow requirements, then the Blueline pumps from Aquatic Eco Systems work great as well.

You can't beat the warranty on the Reeflo pumps; 3 years for regular models and 5 years for the gold models. I don't know of any other pump manufacturer that backs their pumps with that kind of warranty.

Performance wise there's not much that can beat them for the gph flow and energy efficiency.

Right now i'm using a quiet one 4000 for my return from my sump and a 1200 for my bed filter and i've never had a problem with either of them.. Actually looking at a 6000 or 9000 to increase turnover..
