Ok so a few weeks ago I bought a few bags of Hikari "Bio-Gold +" to feed to my Central and South American Cichlids. Now I have always used the regular Hikari "Gold" pellets and blood worms as food with healthy fish as a result. Well now all of my females in the last week have dropped eggs!! Im talking about four females in total, all in different tanks, and three are with no males even in sight!! Is the "Hikari Bio Gold +" really just that good of a food???!!!....Let me know if you have any results like I am currently experiencing......

i don't have an answer for you put i hope so, i have an 8.8oz unopened back of it haha would llove to see some great results :P

Interesting. I think an experiment is in order.

I can agree with this statement op. I feed 2 of my tanks bio gold + and they are spawning more frequently and laying more eggs. I stripped 3 female vics to get a total of 50 wigglers.

thats weird

I love the stuff. All of my fish devour it. I couldn't believe how much more size and color my first FH added after starting to feed Bio-gold

I would be skeptical about giving the credit to one food.

It may simply be that a change in diet has triggered breeding because the fish think the season has changed? Like in the wild there will be tons of food when summer hits and fish will breed more. Perhaps that is what they think has happened?
