Yeah I notice that and no pellets ever stay in the tank bc they get eaten within seconds, I'm thinking of just feeding all fresh or frozen food

+1 thats all i feed my fish frozen prawn, fish, worms, peas, carrots,ect

You could try leaving the bag open and keeping it in the backyard for a day. Letting it air out fixes everything that smells.

I keep all fish food in the refrig. Stays fresher longer
