Probably, plus foul up your water. No hammer.
The idea is just to get the balls wet and let the water soak in. It makes it almost like a goo-ball. No vitamins lost, and easier for smaller fish to consume. Thats why I do it. Hikari sinking pellets seem to be a bit softer.

(Dont mean to jack the thread) :grinno: It doesnt foul up my water. I dont use a hammer, i use a small measuring cup meant for measuring the anti chlorin. :D when i smashed it it becomes like dough ball 70% of the time and the fish jus chomp up the whole dough ball. Other times it becomes loose pieces and my minnows will finish it lol. How will it lose its vitamins then?
