Hikari Food - Vitamin Comparison

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I only have one bag in front of me.

Very good comparative research.

The only Hikari I have for my fish right now is the Massivore. It took me a while to convince myself to buy it because of the price tag. But I am glad I bought it. Don't let the price of this stuff fool you - because of the fact that the pellets are so massive, the bag I bought is going to last me for ever.

When I put Massivore in my 55 gallon, I put just 2 pellets in. This is enough for my 7 inch Texas. If he can't finish two, then my pleco cleans up the rest.

For my 125 gallon (stocklist in my sig), I drop in probably no more than 5 pellets at a time (I also put in NLS pellets for the smaller fish).

So my point is a bag of this stuff will last a really long time, so the price is worth it.

i've been switching over from Hikari to Omega One because of the ingredients and I can't find NLS very easily. too bad Omega One doesn't list the vitamin contents.

if you send omega 1 an email they will send you the weighted analysis. I will post it if I can find it lost in the depths of my inbox.

I'm curious to know this too, as I recently added Omega One to my fish food "rotation" along with NLS and frozen food.

I order NLS from bigalsonline.com

my terrors currently eat carn pellets i never feed hikari aside from the terrors eating them for protein... they also eat algeae/spirulina flake i noticed they are a little dimmer colored than a breeding pair i have on the spektrum... the orange in the tail isnt as bright nor the blue tint throughout the body....could be genes im not sure

What I do is that I buy cichlid bio gold, sinking carnivore, and cichlid gold and mix them all together with dried shrimps, tubifex worms, and a generic sinking pellets then stuff it to my auto-feeder
