Hikari imput: Cichlid gold vs Bio-gold

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Most of my cichla are eating cichlid gold. It's a great staple and offers tremendous growth rates. Try using the sinking version to convert them the move onto floating in order to keep your tanks cleaner.
I've grown a tem from 4" to 10" in 3-4 months on hikari gold feeding just once a day.

My fish love sinking bio-gold but the pellet is too small imo.
Bio-gold is more expensive and really not much better than cichlid gold..

*Wow, old-ish thread ~ I need to visit the cichla forum more often! :D

They both have sinking and floating versions. I prefer the floaters. Much easier to remove uneaten pellets in case I overfeed. Also more fun for trying to get the fish to eat from your fingertips;)

bio gold comes in sinking form?

I started using Bio-Gold+ today. I notice my fishes attack it the floating pellets. They seem to produce less waste. Also their appetite increased.

Hikari BioGold is the more expensive type.. but they do float..

The two types of Cichid Gold are the RED bag and BLUE bag.. red float.. blue sinks...

They both work very well.. but i do see that Pbass will def like floating type more than sinking type...

Sinking type are more for bottom feeders, like Bichir, African Arowana, Fei Feng, Loaches, sometimes Gar.. i do feed my gar the floating and sinking gold and he loves it.

It just depends on what u are able to teach your fish to eat....

Sinking biogold is cheaper than the more pricer Hikari Massivore Delite...
