Do you need to feed other pellets if feeding NLS, no, some people do, others feed it exclusively. I've been feeding it exclusively to all of my fish for several years.
By exclusively, do you mean feed only one NLS formula or more?

I feed whatever pellet size best suits the fish that I'm feeding.

Vitamin pre-mixes cost next to nothing in the grand scheme of things, and certainly wouldn't account for such a drastic price difference between two formulas made by the same company.

im simply asking for a comparision just because its cheap doesn't mean a good pellet formula shouldn't make sure to have them.

I've never bought or used Massivore but last weekend at the SD Koi Show I visited the Hikari booth and asked what they recomend for monster fish. They said Massivore because one pellet is equivalent to two goldfish. Wow! They showed me a small bag of the stuff and I knew it was expensive so I didn't even ask the price. Guess if they made the bag bigger only a few can afford it.

glancing through this massivore looks like it has higher quality main ingredients and looks more targeted towards predatory fish

I think that would depend entirely upon what the mystery "starch" is (3rd ingredient listed by dry weight) as well as the inclusion rate of that starch, especially when combined with ingredient #5, wheat flour, as well as any other carbs found in the formula.

Most predatory species can only assimilate carbs up to 10-15%, max.

BTW mgk, this is what Hikari has listed for ingredients for Cichlid Gold, I'm not sure what formula you have listed above?

Fish meal, flaked corn, wheat flour, gluten meal, brewer's dried yeast, starch, enzyme, garlic, astaxantin, DL-methionine, monosodium glutamate, vitamins and minerals including stabilized vitamin C.

At least they left the corn flakes out of Massivore ........
