I have a friend who swears by Hikari staple and gold, because of good reviews on the products, I just don't understand how come the price is so high and what difference it will make for my SA/CA cichlids?

I currently feed them Tetra Cichlid Sticks and Wardley shrimp pellets.

I have tried looking it up online, but can not find out why Hikari is such a good food...
I recently asked a man at a pet store and I was told that all fish food brands are basically the same, is this true?

Any information or opinions on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Unless my fish need feeders I feed them nothing but hikari gold its the best!

All the fish that I've had takes Hikari. It just seems that it might be more palatable to fish. I've tried other pellets and they seem to jump at Hikari more than any other pellets.

its very nutritious for the size of the pellets and it greatly improves the color of my fish, my fish actually prefer eating hikari over other brands

Hikari food might not necessarily be better.. but it does make fish want to eat it.. vs other generic brand that fishes might not touch...

I have tried other brands of food.. especially for cichlids.. GRAND SUMO for one is a much better FH food than Hikari bio gold or cichlid gold... ;)

As for arowana food.. I stop buying arowana sticks because it was too pricy.. I've since switch to Hikari gold and marketshrimp.... its cheaper and they perform much better..

i swear by hikari so do all my fish some refuse feeders now and only want there sticks

hikari has been in the game for about 130years i believe. hikari gold and staple might seem the same but the aro sticks and massivevores is were its at

I feed only hikari also,i would agree fish eat it faster than most other foods, i have had wild fish that would only eat live and i have sucessfully switched them to hikari when they would not accept others. I swear by gold and massivore for my large fish and bio-gold for the younger ones they seem to grow faster on the bio-gold when young.
