Hillstream Loach Help

Aquarium Center in Clemonton, NJ is the shop I was referring to. Another great shop in NJ is Absolutely Fish in Clifton, NJ (I got my Blue Panque Pleco here), and AquaScape in Belleville, NJ (I got a very nice Golden Nugget Pleco here). All 3 of these places are very knowledgeable and helpful about their fish... I would have to say, of the 3, the best one would be Absolutely Fish.

I have a few hillstreams. I have them with some other loaches and snails. I feed the tank flake food, algae tabs, and alternating veggies (lettuce, zuchinni, spinach mostly). It's been 6 months or so an they seem great.

Something as small as hillstreams you don't really "feed" specifically, since they eat so little. Just make sure the tank is similar eaters and give it variety.

I did, my LFS said they suck on algae and can have pellets. I tried.

It may not help you now, but for future you can get a bunch of round pebbles, leave them in water in the sun for algae to grow. Then put a few in the tank for food. Once they have been grazed bare swap them for green ones. This can carry on giving you a reasonably reliable food source.
