I found that Aquarium Glaser have "REAL P.histrix from BRAZIL" on their list. Does anyone know if this is the real deal or not?
I have ordered a couple, and they have arrived in a LFS 6 hours from where i live. I am planning to hit the road Friday... What should i expect?

Haha... so potentially i could end up with two reticulata/hummerosa/orgibiny... minus 3 leopoldi`s and 1 histrix... :D

My LFS in Holland recieved hystrix a few weeks back.
They were the true brazil hystrix.
So there are true hystrix in Europe at the moment.
Good luck on the 6 hour drive(and back).
You could ask them to e-mail you a picture??

Hi,

if they are calling them REAL Potamotrygon hystrix from brazil, then you should expect to get Potamotrygon cf. hystrix from Rio Negro! If I am not wrong, then the real REAL Pot. hystrix is coming exclusively from Argentina!!

Glaser imported the in my eyes real Pot. hystrix from Argentina at least once some years ago and called them Pot. spec. 'Argentina Marbled'

Regards
Stefan

Glaser is a reputable firm, BUT, i find that they get the names wrong a LOT OF TIME.

Sounds promising, except from that last post :) thanks for the replies...
From what i have been told -Glaser know their stuff, so i am pretty shure it actually is histrix... but you never know when it comes to this sp...

If i drive 6 hours just to find a couple of hummerosa or retics, i will definitely eat my socks.
