Histrix from Aquarium Glaser

They can't take you a picture and potentially save you 12 hours of driving?

I asked for a picture yesterday, but "no camera available"... - though he did assured me once again that this really was the REAL Brazilian histrix... :uhoh:

... i just cant belive it 100% before i see it with my own eyes. Have been looking for histrix for over a year, and know from experience that in 80-90% of the cases it`s something else... Im scared.

I think the issue here is that P.hystrix as someone says is actually the Argentinian fish, the Brazilian fish looks a lot like it but may or maynot be the same species.
That said i got 2 perfect female hystrix through a UK importer the other week. They look like the Brazilian ones (high body and marbled) and im chuffed. I know they came through Germany but couldnt tell you who in Germany. Hoping to get a male in the coming weeks but id say if they're showing up the chances are good of you getting that you want!

Just arrived back home... 14 hour drive all together... And guess what:

Real p.histrix!!!

I ordered four, two camed in, one died shortly after... i just can`t loose this guy. Will keep him in a 60x50x40 (cm) for a period of time.

He is only 2,7"... not a good way to start his life, but ill do my very best.

nice well worth the drive

Looks like he is in good condition. He is moving around slowly at the bottom, searching the sand... touching the surroundings... and he has been eating small amounts of bloodworms all day

Two pics of the new one - and two of the female (his future partner):
