Yea it used to be really plump but I just moved about 3 weeks ago and it's still fasting. I have some really plump pics of it from a while back.

Looks great.. i like the blue on it in that picture..

Hoplias have to be the trickiest fish on earth, identification wise. Most of the techniques used to ID are not accurate. You got a beautiful fish though. how is the temperment

Yea, he has blue streaks going down his back. This is supposedly a common trait of wolves from Ecuador and that's where he is from.

He's mean.. no tankmates, etc..

He usually doesn't mind me but lately he gets an attitude when I get near the tank.
 
To me that looks like a female. I had a wolf that looked very similar to that, with the curved ventrical and plump it turns out to be a female. how do i know? it died and i opened it up out of curiosity had a load of eggs.
