There is a neighborhood park that I bring my daughter to a couple of times a week. Right across the street from the playground area is a small coullie. Most days, she will play on the playground, then on the way back to the truck we'll walk along the coulie so that she can look at turtles. I always see a lot of small minnow like fish swirling at the top, but have never been able to distinguish what they were because the water is normally pretty murky. Yesterday we went to the park, and while doing our turtle walk the water was much more clear. I noticed some fish that were a little larger than most of the other minnows that had a blue hue to their tail. Then I saw one flair it's dorsal fin...sailfin mollies. Today Marie and I went to the park with a dip net and caught a few, including a big fat pregnant female. They are realy nice looking.

I'm in the Southwest part of the state, over near the TX state line. While in N.O. try to wet a line in City Park or Bayou St John, you can catch a bunch of Texas Cichlids...of course the only problem is that it's illegal to posses them alive in the state so you couldn't transport them home.
