HITH HELP!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have also had carbon in my filter (last week) since the day i started using metro to try and cure the disease. Carbon removes the medicines from the water so should I continue using the medicine for another week but without the carbon this time?

Ok so i see that vitamins and nutrients are also essential in the healing of my fish but my fish won't eat.... any ideas how to get the vitamins in?

Have you tried a flavor additve like like Seachem GarlicGard? I've found when the fish really don't want to eat you can add liquid vitamins directly into the water like boyds Vitachem Fresh to try to get some nourishment into them.

Although Carbon as a cause of HITH has been debunked, it's usually essential to remove the stuff when adding any medication

I am going to the LFS right now for some vitachem and aquarium salt. With the boost of vitachem will my oscar start eating once again? And by scars will i just look like scars people get or will it still look like HITH? (I really need to know this because I need to tell if my oscar is cured from HITH.)

Ok so the LFS had no vitachem and it seems the reason my oscar won't eat is because the HITH makes it hurt? I am guessing that once it heals up my fish will begin to be greedy like always. Lol. I removed my carbon and did a water change and made the temp 83-84 ish and put in 1 tbs of aquarium salt for every 5 gallons of water. Hope this will work.
